Jagannath temple : Hyderabad Inaguration

Finally its complete, after a long wait we odiyas have  our very own Jagannath temple here at Hyderabad. The construction of the temple started back in 2006 and is now ready. The inaguration is scheduled through Mar 5 – Mar 8th. The venue is of course the new temple at Banjara hills, right next to the Hyderabad Kalinga Samaj building.

The last time I went to the temple was in Oct ‘08, spoke to couple of Kalinga Samaj guys and the local priest and found some interesting info about the temple. Expert stone carvers have been have been brought from Orissa who would carve out idols of gods and goddesses from sand stone. These sand stone blocks have also been brought from Orissa. However, the idols of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra, made of margosa wood, would be specially brought from Orissa. Interiors of the ‘Viman’ would be adorned with a theme based on the ‘Rath Yatra.’

I will be going there this Saturday or Sunday with some of my old time ‘odiya’ friends and a special non-odiya friend who is eager to visit the temple. Will also uploaded some pics of the new temple after the visit.

Below is the contact info for Kalinga Samaj and temple.

Its good that we are spreading “Jagganath Sanskruti”, and making people one. A temple of Jaga in Hyderabad is gives the feeling of Puri, in Hyderabad.
    I really appreciate the job.

Today I came to know that there is the temple of lord Jagannath here in Hyderabad. I got surprised but one thing i came to know and really became sad (very disgusting) that yesterday CART FESTIVAL (Ratha Yatra) was not organized there.
and also the priest there is not Oriya one or LORD is not getting properly worshiped in the temple according to “ORIYA RITHI NITHI” . ” ABADHA BHOGA LAGUNI MANDIRARE & MUNDIA MARIBAKU ALLOWED NAHIN. KANA EHAKU ORIYA SANSKRUTI KAHIBA. THIS IS NOT GOOD ATALL, JADI ORIYA DEVADEVINKU ORIYA PUJA BIDHI RE PUJA NAHELA TAHELE PUJA KARIKI LABHAKANA SANSKRUTI NA RE KAHINKI E KALANKA”. IF THE TRUSTIES ARE REALLY IN “SANSKRUTIKA SADBHABA” THEN RATHER BUILDING A TEMPLE EXTRAORDINARILY THEY SHOULD BETTER FOCOUS ON THE “PUJA BIDHI”.
THE TEMPLE SHOULD BE BOUND ACCORDING TO THE RULES OF THE “LORD JAGANNATH PUJA SAMITI” . WHO EVER WILL READ PLEASE DISCUSS ON THIS TOPIC FIRST.

    HAVE A NICE TIME

Hi Avinash, I am agree with you. The Lord Jagannath is not only for Oriya’s . He is the Supreme power of Universe. I respect your views on Puja Bidhi. I really fully agree with you that they are not doing ABADHA there. Ama jaga pakhaku gale samasta nkara gotia asha ABADHA khaibaku…..kintu abadha pain kichi bi byabaasta nahi sethare. Really this temple is very beutiful.

May be kichi problem thiba sethi pain Abadha hoiparuni……

I visited this temple.. I must say its one of the most beautiful temple in hyderabad. Its new, so all the sanctity is maintained. Irrespective of being on a busy road, the place is extremely peaceful and is full of spiritual aura….

I am not Oriya… and who i am shouldn’t really matter as long as I am respecting Lord. Lets get beyond the communal differences and adore the fact that everyone can find peace and tranquility in this temple. I am very happy for the team who made this temple happen. I extend my full support to such activities from them in future.

I pray to lord .. help us to protect the sanity and peace of this place. Give everyone the wisdom to keep this place clean and pure as it is today….
