My Approach to CAT
Motto:
“Everything in this world can be seen as you wish to. Good or Bad; Simple or Complicated; Easy or Difficult. Its not how things are; its about how you look up to them. …and how you look up to them is all up to you.”
Marking Scheme:
Use the 5 mins (before opening the question booklet) wisely.
See how marks are distributed +4, -1 or +4, -1/4, in the former be choosey in the later take risks.
Check for section wise marking and number of questions per section.
Typically CAT looks like:
It will always have one section tough and rest easy.
Approx no of ques wud be around 75 with total marks 300 and expected cutoff around 110
Question selection:
Dont try for ques 1 thru 25, just go through the questons and select easy ones first.
Just need to have around 8-9 correct answers out of 25 to clear cut-off.
Trust me you will find atleast 8-9 easy ones.
Sequence of answering:
My experience says, Quant -> DI -> VA/RC
Words of caution :
RC is the “killer”, Time consumed vs marks ratio is too low here.
Rather trust on vocab and grammar.
These techinques have worked for me, not sure abt u. Newayz Best Of Luck !!!
